  • How do I book a day trip with you?
    The best way to book is through our website, which is available 24/7. Alternatively, you can call us on 0330 133 8738 Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. Or send us an email at senior.excursions.uk@gmail.com.
  • What paperwork will I receive?
    When you book a day trip, you will receive a booking confirmation email or letter detailing all aspects of the day trip that you have booked. If you have requested the door-to-door service, you will also receive confirmation of your collection along with the timings for the day.
  • Can I bring a bag with me on the day trip?
    If you would like to bring a bag with you, we recommend a small day bag. Please do not bring any large luggage with you as we cannot accommodate this on the minibus.
  • What happens if I am late for the start of the day trip?
    Due to the nature of our trips, we cannot wait for you if you arrive late to the trip starting point or if you are not ready for your door-to-door collection. This would impact the collection of other passengers and the itinerary for the rest of the day. We recommend that you arrive at the starting point earlier than required or that you are ready for your home collection earlier than the stated time.
  • Do you offer day trips exclusive to groups?
    Yes, we can organise exclusive day trips for group organisers. Please contact us to find out more.
  • Where do you pick up from?
    We pick up from several locations around the Manchester area. Our pick-up points are trip specific, please look at the individual trip details for further information on our pick-up points. Alternatively, please give us a call on 0330 133 8738.
  • Can I bring my carer with me?
    Yes. We have a discounted rate for carers. Please ensure that when you are booking a day trip you indicate that you are bringing your carer and select the right ticket type for them.
  • What is the group size?
    Our group size on any day trip will not exceed more than 12 people.
  • What should I do once I arrive at the pickup point?
    Look out for our minibus. We often have several pickups in the morning, so if we are running a little late, do not worry. Wait 5-10 minutes and give us a call and we will give you an update.
  • What should I wear and bring?
    Please dress according to the season. We recommend always bringing a raincoat, it is England after all!
  • How much walking is required?
    We take you as close to each destination or venue as possible. However, there are short distances to walk on each trip, to a place of interest for example. We endeavour to keep the distances as short as possible. There is however ample opportunity to explore further afield should you wish.
  • How far in advance do I need to book?
    You can book a day trip up to the day before the scheduled trip. During the summer months, we recommend booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
  • Do you have trips all year round?
    We offer day trips throughout the year, however, certain trips are not available during the winter months (November – March). You can see a list of all our scheduled day trips here: www.seniorexcursions.co.uk/upcoming-trips
  • What happens if I cancel my day trip?
    If you cancel 14 days before the day trip you will receive a 50% refund, subject to any tickets that have been purchased for you. If you cancel within 14 days of the day trip you will not receive a refund.
  • What happens if you cancel the day trip?
    We will refund you the whole amount.
  • Are minibus seats reserved?
    No. There is no allocated seating on the minibus. However, if you would like to sit next to another client on the minibus, please let us know prior to the trip and we will arrange this for you.
  • How often do you stop on the way to a destination?
    The frequency of stops depends on the travel time for each day trip. On longer journeys, we will stop off for toilet and refreshment breaks.
  • Is there a toilet on the minibus?
    No, there is no toilet on the minibus.
  • What’s included in the price?
    As standard, transport to and from the destination, admission tickets and listed tours are included in the ticket price. Lunch is also included on our day trips unless mentioned otherwise.
  • Are there any additional costs during a day trip?
    The only extra costs that you may incur on a day trip are additional refreshment stops at cafés or any shopping that you do throughout the day.
  • Is lunch included in the price?
    Lunch is included in the price of your day trip unless stated otherwise. For example, on some trips, you may have afternoon tea or an evening meal as opposed to lunch.
  • What are Tour Companions?
    All of our day trips are fully accompanied by our friendly and helpful tour companions. They will be there from the minute you get onto the minibus, to the minute you get off it. They are there to make your day as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, whether that’s accompanying you as you walk around a destination, pushing your wheelchair or for a laugh during the day.
  • Who are your Tour Companions?
    Friendly, helpful and enthusiastic individuals who know how to make your day trip better. Our current tour companions are Tessa and Ian.
  • What checks do you perform?
    Lots. We have a robust screening process for every single tour companion. We check things like identity, right to work, proof of residence, academic qualifications, employment history, a criminal record search, personal references and other data sources. All of our tour companions are first-aid trained too.
  • Are your day trips accessible?
    We endeavour to make our day trips as accessible as possible. We pre-visit each location to ensure that they are suitable for all of our clients. Some venues are not accessible due to their nature, for example, Conwy Castle. In the event that you wish to attend a day trip that has an inaccessible element to it, an alternative accessible itinerary will be available.
  • Is the minibus accessible?
    Yes. Our wheelchair has step-free access, there is a lift at the rear that will take you onto the minibus. There is storage space in the rear of the minibus to store your mobility aid. You are welcome to stay seated in your electric scooter or wheelchair, providing that it has breaks or you may transition into one of the seats on the minibus.
  • I have an electric scooter, can I still come on a day trip?
    Yes. We can accommodate small electric scooters. There is storage space in the rear of the minibus to store your electric scooter. Please ensure that the electric scooter that you bring on a day trip does not exceed 20kg, otherwise, we will not be able to lift this into the minibus for you.
  • I use a wheelchair, can I still come on a day trip?
    Yes. We can accommodate wheelchairs. If you would like one of our tour companions to push your wheelchair during the day trip, please inform us at the time of your booking to ensure that we have enough tour companions available to do so.
  • How does your door-to-door service work?
    It’s simple. We collect you from your home on the day of the trip and we drop you back off there too. If you would like to use our door-to-door service, simply let us know when you book one of our day trips. We will let you know whether the service is available based on your location and the number of other requests that we have.
  • Where do you offer the door-to-door service?
    Our door-to-door service is available within 5 miles of the day trip start point
  • How much is the door-to-door service?
    The door-to-door service is subject to a £5 extra fee. If there are multiple people being collected at the same location, there is only one £5 fee payable.
  • How do I book the door-to-door service?
    You can request the door-to-door service when you book onto any of our day trips. All door-to-door requests must be received no later than 3 days before the start of the day trip.
  • When will I receive my door-to-door service collection details?
    No later than 3 days before the start of a day trip.
